Finally ... (26th - 29th of July 2009 Nuremberg to Chiang Mai)

Hello my dears,

finally - finally. There were many days within the last weeks where I thought we would never make it to here - but - finally - we made it.

But lets start from the start ...

Saturday 18.54 h the passports arrived - finally. We ran off for the FEZ (Shopping Mall) to get rid of our last ebay-stuff and to handle some other things.

Then off to Utes Pary - yessssss!!!
Although it was a great party, we didnt stay long, we were too exhausted.

Sunday 26th of July 2009
The shortly engaged cleaners from outta space came to save us. Again many thanks to Lili, Maria and Lora. Thousands of thank yous!!!!!!;-))))))

Then sharing out some things to the parents and then off to grannies birthday at the "Wanner". The last Schaeufala or Schnitzel ;-))))))

To Ute and Marco for the last Riesling.

To Uli and Katrin for the last Bottle of Averna.

And in between still some things to manage and to be done.

Monday 27th of July 2009
Getting our replacement passports.

Breakfast at "Zeit & Raum"(what an indulgance, after nearly have eaten anything the last days).
Changing money and buying Traveller Cheques
Rebooking our last part of the flight. Because now that we have the date of issue of the visa we know by which date we have to be in NZ ;-)))))
We couldnt do that before ;-)))))
Otherwise it would have been far too easy, dont you think so?
New arrival in Sydney at the 12th of October. Arrival in NZ on the 19th of October.

Checking the flat and official hand over of the keys of the flat.

The joke of the day was that I had to call Schenker to tell them that they may want some money from us and that today would be the last day to ask us for a longer period !!!!!!!
I am always (still) absolutely astonished for whom else I always have to think too. (!!??!!)

22.00 h fell into bed - totally exhausted.

Tuesday 28th of July 2009

Well - standing up at our last day here.
What shall I say - funny feeling.

Somehow the flat seemed to not want to get empty, and all of that costs nerves and energy.
Dont think - dont think. Just do - just do.
The mind is brimfull - and the hart too.
Dont think - dont think.
Just pack - just pack.
Everything will be fine.

I really wouldnt have thought we would make it to get the flat cleared up, but somehow we made it - right in time - as always - but for what a price!!!

Then the last family lunch at the Schlenkerla.
http://www.schlenkerla.de
I couldnt eat nearly anything.

And then everything went really fast - which was very good - I think for everyone of us.
Off with Alex in the car to Munich Airport.
Very short "good Bye" with Alex which was good too.
Flight to London Heathrow.

Then there was a question that question, if we had an extra visa for such a long stay in Thailand (the next shock). No, we will leave Thailand after less than 4 weeks to Laos. If we could prove that? Thanks to heaven, I print everything out, that we might need, so we could proof that. We both took a deep breath.
And then the reward - we got an upgrade - we would fly business - yessssss.
(Did I already mention that I chose the day of our departure with the help of a feng shui calender?????)

I slept the hole fligt - that was luxus pure.
Stefan did chose the whole menue with a shiraz and two movies. ;-)))))))
He said, that I slept away the whole luxus, but sleeping on a flight (which is normally impossible for me) is indulgance at its finest. The seats become real beds. Wow. And we got pyjamas with the Quantas label on it ;-))))))

The brekkie was also phantastic, but again I wasnt able to eat at all.
Everythings gonna be fine - for sure. ;-)))))

Then in Bangkok we really did not have to change to the other airport. All in the same building. Joy and relief - yess. It is starting to get easier.
And - at that day - our flight was the only flight from Air Asia that came out on time (Did I already mention...)

In Chiang Mai we got a lift from Run and Niti from "Friends for Asia". They brought us to our hotel. Everythin was fine.

At the moment we try to get used to the thai wheather and the thai keyboard.
This evening we will go out eating with the other volunteers and maybe a massage. ;-)))))

Yesterday morning I - for a short time - had a short trace of panic. But now its fine.

Slowly but surely I start to realise whats happening. Before there war no time and no room for that. And at least to look forward to whats all ahead of us ;-))))

Well - today - no catastrophies, but that really feels good.

Next time more info about Chiang Mai.

Thats all for today.
